Compose and send emails in AOL Mail

AOL Mail lets you customize how you want your emails to look when sending messages to your contacts. Send, forward and reply to messages, create and use a signature, or choose a default font to make every message your own.

Send email

1. From the inbox, click Compose.
2. In the "To" field, type the name or email address of your contact.
3. In the "Subject" field, type a brief summary of the email.
4. Type your message in the body of the email.
5. Click Send.

Reply to an email

1. Open an email message.
2. On the top of the message, click the Reply icon Image of the reply icon (reply to 1 sender), or the Reply All icon Image of the reply all icon (reply to everyone on the email thread).
3. Type your response.
4. Click Send.

Forward an email

At this time, automatic forwarding of email isn't offered, however individual emails can be forwarded one at a time.

1. Open an email message.
2. On the top of the email, click the Forward icon Image of the forward mail icon.
3. Enter the email address you want the message sent to.
4. Click Send.

Create and use a signature

1. Under your username, click Options | Mail Settings.
2. Click the "Compose" tab.
3. Next to "Rich Text/HTML," select Use signature.
4. Enter your signature info.
5. Click Save Settings.

Choose a default font and color

1. Under your username, click Options | Mail Settings.
2. Click the "Compose" tab.
3. Next to "Rich Text/HTML," select Use Rich Text/HTML.
4. Select your font type, size, and color.
5. Click Save Settings.
