Use IM to send text messages

You can send texts from AIM and AOL Mail to nearly any U.S. mobile phone number.

When people get your text, they'll see your AIM or AOL Mail username displayed as the sender. And they reply just like they normally would to any other text message.

For detailed instructions on how to send text messages from your AOL mail or AIM account, visit Texting from AIM and Mail help.

Here are the carriers that support receiving and replying to IMs:

Note: While AOL won't charge a penny, mobile service providers may charge to deliver texts to a mobile device.

By using AIM, you agree to AOL's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. We provide the messaging service as-is. Message and data rates may apply. Please check your mobile subscription plan. You can review the AOL Mobile Terms of Service and Privacy Policy on the web at http://mobile.aol.com/tos.
