What is an AOL Voicemail greeting?

An AOL Voicemail greeting is the message that callers hear when your phone is busy or you do not answer. You can record your own greeting or use the default AOL Voicemail greeting. For example, you can customize the voicemail greeting to say, "You've reached the Smith family, but we are unavailable to come to the phone right now. Please leave a message after the tone."

Change your AOL Voicemail greeting

To change your AOL Voicemail greeting:
1. Call 1800-265-1234, and then sign on to the AOL Voicemail service.
2. Say "voicemail greetings" or press 3 on your telephone. Follow the instructions over the phone to record your own greeting.

Note: After you record your AOL Voicemail greeting, you'll be able to review the recorded greeting immediately. If you don't like it, you can record it again. To hear the new greeting, call your home phone number from a different phone number.
