I don't get call notifications from AOL Call Alert when I'm online

If you are not getting notified of your incoming calls by AOL Call Alert when you are signed on to the AOL service, you may not have the "Call Forward Busy" feature enabled on your telephone by your telephone service provider. In most cases, AOL, on your behalf, requests for the activation of the "Call Forward Busy" feature on your telephone. Depending on your phone company, it may take 1-5 days to process the request. In the mean time, we recommend you to ensure that your call waiting is disabled on the AOL service. To do so, read our online help article Disable call waiting when online.

Once you have disabled call waiting, you can test the AOL Call Alert service on your AOL service.

To check whether the call forward feature has been activated on your telephone
1. Sign on to the AOL service.
2. Have a friend call you. Alternatively, you can call yourself using a cell phone.
3. If your call results in a constant busy signal, the feature has not yet been activated on your telephone line. We recommend that you try again after some time.
