Send preset AOL Call Alert responses to callers

You can send preset AOL Call Alert responses to incoming calls. In the AOL Call Alert window, click the Play Recording drop-down arrow, and then select the preset response of your choice. There are four preset responses available. Each of them is explained below:

  • I'll call you back: The person you're trying to reach is currently not available to take your call and will call you back shortly.
  • Please call later: The person you're trying to reach is not available to take your call and requests that you call back later.
  • Try my cell: The person you're trying to reach knows that you're calling and requests you to call his or her cell phone.
  • Don't know you: Sorry, but the party you're trying to reach cannot identify you from your called ID information and will not accept your call.

Note: You can customize the above responses with your own personal greeting. To do so, call 1-800-265-1234. Sign on to the AOL Call Alert service. Press 8 on your telephone keypad. Press 2 to change your responses. Press 1 to reach the greetings menu and follow the instructions over the phone to change the desired greetings.
