The Microsoft Pop-up Blocker installed with Windows XP SP2 takes precedence over the AOL Toolbar Pop-up Blocker. If you want to use the AOL Toolbar Pop-up Blocker, you will need to turn off the Microsoft Internet Explorer Pop-up Blocker.
Turn Off the Microsoft Internet Explorer Pop-up Blocker
You can turn off the Microsoft Pop-up Blocker in either of two ways.
To turn off the Microsoft Pop-up Blocker from the Internet Explorer window:
In the upper right of the Internet Explorer window, click the Tools drop-down menu, select Pop-up Blocker, then click Turn Off Pop-up Blocker.
To turn off the Microsoft Pop-up Blocker from the Internet Options window:
1. On the Internet Explorer toolbar, click the Tools menu, then click Internet Options.
2. Click the Privacy tab.
3. In the Pop-up Blocker section, click the Block pop-ups box, or Turn on Pop-up Blocker box, to clear it.
4. Click the OK button.
