AOL Toolbar is installed, but I can't see it. Why?

Sometimes, when you install other components on your browser, the AOL Toolbar software gets disabled. To find the AOL Toolbar, click the View menu, select Toolbars, and then check AOL Toolbar by clicking on it. When the AOL Toolbar is enabled, a check mark will appear next to it.

How will I know if a newer version of AOL Toolbar is available?

By default, AOL Toolbar is configured to automatically check for updates. If you have turned that feature off, you can manually check for new updates.

To manually check for updates to AOL Toolbar with Internet Explorer:
1. On the AOL Toolbar, click the Settings icon, select Help, and then click Check for Updates.

2. Click the Yes button.
3. If a new update is available, follow the on-screen prompts to download and install it.

The email count on my toolbar is blank, but I have new messages in my inbox. Why?

The updated email count is visible on the AOL Toolbar only when you are signed in to your AOL account. To see how many unread messages are there in your inbox, please sign in to your AOL account at mail.aol.com.
