How do I find public chat rooms?

There are two types of public chat rooms: those created by AOL People Connection and those created by AOL members.

Notes:

• If you cannot find a room that interests you, you can create your own chat room. To know how to create a chat room, please refer to our online help article How to start a chat room?
• You can browse/search for a chat room only using the AOL software.

Browse for a chat room

You can browse through the list of available rooms. To make your search easier, the available chat rooms are divided into different categories.

To browse for a chat room
1. Go to AOL Keyword: Chat Room Listings.

Note: The Keyword feature is not available in AOL Desktop.

2. Click Chat Now.

3. Click the Chats tab.

4. Under Categories, click the desired category.

5. From the rooms available, select the room that you wish to enter, and then click chat now.

Search for a specific chat room

You can also search for a specific chat room by using the Chat Finder feature.

To search for a specific chat room
1. Go to AOL Keyword: Chat Room Listings.

Note: The Keyword feature is not available in AOL Desktop.

2. Click Chat Now.
3. At the bottom of the AIM Chat window, click Chat Finder, and then type the name of the desired chat room to find the specific AIM Chat.

4. Click Search.

5. From the chat rooms listed, click the chat room that you wish to enter.
