How Can I make Sure That I Am Taking Advantage of the AOL Best Connect Feature

The AOL Best Connect feature is a new service we are offering that will assist in maintaining the best connection possible to the AOL service.

Note: The AOL Best Connect feature is delivered with AOL Connectivity Service (ACS) version 4.0 and above (for the United States calling area only). ACS 4.0 is installed when you download ACS as part of an AOL client that supports ACS 4.0, or if you receive an online update to an older ACS.

Note: If you use multiple computers, changes in the settings made to one computer will not change the settings on other computers. You will need to adjust the AOL Best Connect™ settings on each computer you use.

Opt In to the AOL Best Connect Feature With the AOL Software

To opt in to the AOL Best Connect feature when you use any version of AOL 9.6, AOL 9.5, AOL 9.1, and any version of AOL 9.0 software:
1. Launch the AOL 9.0 software.
2. On the Sign On screen, click theConnect Options button.
3. Click the Create Dial-Up Location link.
4. Choose the Dial-Up - I will connect to AOL using my phone line option by clicking it, then click theNext click here button.
5. Next to Area code and first 3 digits of the phone number you will be dialing from:, type the area code and the first three digits of the phone number your modem uses to connect.
6. Specify any required dialing options, then click theNext click here button.
7. Click the Yes, use AOL Best Connect™ to manage my access phone numbers for me option to select it, then click the Next click here button.
8. Click the Confirm and Close button.
9. Click the Close button.
