The AOL service lets you read, write, reply to, and forward your AOL email from any computer with an Internet connection. Note: Ensure that you are signed on to the AOL software to perform the following functions: Read email Read emailTo read an email 1. On the AOL toolbar, click the Read icon.
2. Double-click an email to read it. Note: Once you read an email, the message no longer appears in bold font in your mailbox. Only unread messages appear in bold. Write emailTo write an email 1. On the AOL toolbar, click the Write icon.
2. In the Send To box, type the recipient's email address. To send the same email to more than one person, type the email addresses of the persons you want to send the email to in the Send To box and separate these addresses by commas. Alternatively, type the email addresses of all the recipients, separating them by commas, in the Copy To box. Notes:
3. In the Subject box, type a subject for your email.
4. Type your message in the large text box.
5. Click Send Now.
Note: Bcc stands for blind carbon copy. This is similar to the Cc feature, except that the Bcc recipients are invisible to all the other recipients of the message (including other Bcc recipients). The Bcc field is used when addressing a very long list of recipients or a list of recipients who should not (necessarily) know each other. For example, if you send a message To johndoe@aol.com and Bcc janedoe@aol.com, then johndoe sees himself as the message's only recipient. Janedoe, on the other hand, can see that you sent the message To johndoe and that you blind-copied her. Reply to emailReplying to an email allows you to quickly and easily send a message back to the author of the email. When you reply to an email, you can change the email addresses it is sent to, change the text in the message or subject fields, and send attachments. To reply to an email 1. Open the email to which you want to reply. 2. Perform any one of the following actions:
3. If needed, in the Send To and Copy To boxes, enter additional email addresses.
4. Type your reply message in the large text box.
5. Click Send Now.
Forward emailYou can send an email you received to another email address. Forwarding an email allows you to share information conveniently and efficiently. When you forward an email, you can send it to multiple recipients, change the text in the message or subject fields, add new text above or below the original message, and change the attachments included. To forward an email 1. Open the email you want to forward. 2. Click Forward.
3. In the Send To box, type the recipient's email address. To send the same message to more than one recipient, insert a comma, and then type the next email address. Note: If you are sending the email to an AIM or AOL user, all you need to do is type the user's screen name in the Send To or the Copy To box. However, if you are sending the email to a non-AOL or non-AIM user (for example, a Gmail or Hotmail user), you need to type the entire email address, including the domain name, for example, address@domain.com. If you leave out any portion of the email address, the email will be returned to you as undeliverable.
4. If needed, type your message in the large text box. 5. Click Send Now.
Delete emailTo delete an email from your mailbox, click the email you want to delete, and then click Delete.

Change PasswordYour AOL password protects access to your AOL screen name. Anyone who knows your password can sign on with your screen name. Therefore, never reveal your password to anyone. Your password should be easy for you to remember but not for others to guess. If your password can be easily guessed, your AOL account is not secure. You can change your password any time.
