The AOL software is the most convenient, easy to use, all-in-one software that brings your online life together. A big part of your online life undoubtedly includes staying connected with friends and family through email.

How do I send mail using the AOL software?

Sending and receiving email is a great way to stay connected to family and friends.

Here's how to send email using the AOL software:

1. On the AOL toolbar, click the Write icon.

2. In the 'Send To' box, type the email address of the person you'd like to send an email. To send the email to multiple people, enter multiple addresses in the 'Send To' box and separate each address with a comma.

Note: If you're sending mail to a fellow AOL user, you only need to enter the person's Username in the 'Send To' box.

3. In the 'Subject' box, enter the subjet of your email.

4. Now, time to get down to business (or fun!). Type your message in the large message box.

5. When you've finished, click Send Now or Send Later.

Notes:

• If you click Send Now, your email will be sent immediately. The Send Now button is not active unless you are signed on to the AOL service.
• If you click Send Later, your email will be stored in your offline mailbox until you use the Automatic AOL feature to send your outgoing email or sign on to the AOL service. The Send Later button is not active when you are signed onto the AOL service as a Guest.

How do I Cc or Bcc someone?

Send a carbon copy (or Cc) when there are people other than the primary recipients who may also have an interest in the email. You can also send a blind carbon copy (or Bcc) if you don't want the primary or carbon copy recipients to know that you've sent the email to anyone else. How can I send email to a group?

Have a group of friends or family that you email often? Creating a group in your AOL Address Book makes it a snap to email a multiple people. How do I ensure the recipient's email address is correct?

The following message is displayed if the recipient doesn't have a valid email address or when the AIM service is temporarily unavailable: Please try again later and check to ensure the recipient's email address is correct or contact the buddy through other means.

You can write, read, and even respond to email without being signed on to the AOL software. Is there a size limit when sending mail using the AOL software?

Currently, files of 25 MB or less can be sent through an email. If you want to send larger files, you can use a file compression program like WinZip or Wincode to compress the file for transferring. The person receiving the file will also need to have a file compression program in order to open the attachment.
