As part of AOL's ongoing effort to protect users' security and reduce the number of accounts with suspicious activity, AOL has instituted a pop-up campaign that warns users when suspicious activity is detected. If you are using the AOL Desktop software, the pop-up will look like this:
You received this pop-up because unusual activity has been detected on your account, most likely due to repeated spamming or phishing attempts. As a result, AOL has temporarily suspended access to your account until you can confirm your personal information. Should you receive this pop-up window, click OK and take one of the following actions:
