How to

Is your AOL application window way too small? No worries! You can maximize the window size of the AOL software by performing the following:

1. Right-click the AOL icon on the desktop, and then click Properties.

2. Click the Shortcut tab.

3. Click the Run drop-down menu to open it, and then click Maximized.

4. Click Apply.

Save the size and placement of windows on the AOL software

If you've found a perfect way to use the windows in your AOL application, there's a very easy method to save the size and placement of them so you don't have to keep adjusting them every time you start AOL. Just follow these steps:

1. Within your AOL application, resize and move the windows to the desired sizes and locations.

2. At the top of your screen, click Window, and then click Remember Window Size and Position. The next time you open the windows that you resized, it will appear in the desired size and position.

Note: If you want to change only the window size and not the position, click Remember Window Size Only.

Change the display resolution

The display resolution of your screen refers to the number of pixels currently viewable. It also represents the sharpness and clarity of the content displayed on your screen. Higher screen resolutions usually give better picture quality and display more content/pixels.

If you want to change your display resolution, please click the link below that corresponds to the version of Microsoft Windows installed on your computer.

Adjust the text size in your web browser

If your window size issue isn't the problem after all, it could be the text size from your browser instead. To learn how to adjust the text size on your web browser, please continue on to our separate online help article: Increase or decrease the text size on webpages.
