How do I change the tabbed browsing settings on AOL 9.5?

AOL 9.5 opens each new Web page in a new window within the AOL software window. This is what is referred to as tabbed browsing. Each new Web page is identified by a tab at the top labeled with the name of the Web page. Tabbed browsing makes it easier for you to switch back and forth between websites without having to open separate browser windows, or click the back and forward arrows to return to the websites you've already visited. Each tab includes a thumbnail view of the Web page, which is visible when you hover the mouse over the tab.

How-To's

You can open new tabs to visit additional web sites in the following five ways:

  • On the Browser window, click the New Tab (Ctrl-T) button.

  • On the AOL toolbar, click the Window menu, then click New Tab .

  • Hold down the CTRL key on your keyboard, then tap the T key.
  • Right-click a tab, then click New Tab.

  • On the current website, right-click a link, then click Open in New Tab.

Set New Tab Settings

New tabs, not opened from links, open as specified in your tabbed browsing settings. As per your tabbed browsing settings, opening a new tab will open a blank page or your home page.
