Resize your Welcome Screen

You can resize your Welcome Screen to any size you want by following the instructions below:

1. Place your cursor over any corner of the Welcome Screen window.

2. When your cursor changes into a diagonal double-headed arrow (), click and drag the window to the size you want.

Once you have adjusted your Welcome Screen, please follow the instructions in the next solution to save its size and position.

Save your window size and placement

To save the size and placement of the windows within your AOL Desktop software, please follow the instructions below:

1. Resize and move each window to the size and location you want.

2. From the menu bar, click Window and select Remember Window Size and Position.

The next time you open the window, it will appear in the same size and position as you previously set.

Note: If you want only the window size to be changed and not the position, select Remember Window Size Only.

Adjust text size in the browser

Adjusting the text size on your browser can sometimes resolve Welcome Screen sizing issues. For information on how to adjust your browser's text size, please see our help article Increase or decrease the text size on Web pages.

Change your screen resolution

Screen resolution refers to the amount of pixels that fit within your computer's screen. Higher resolutions lead to better picture quality and provide more space for objects to be displayed on screen, but can also seemingly 'shrink' how the content displays..

Select your operating system below for instructions on how to change your screen resolution.

Run Quick Restore

Note: If you are using AOL 8.0 Plus or lower, please visit our help article Clear AOL artwork database.

The Quick Restore feature allows you to reset your AOL Desktop software to its default state. This can help resolve issues that you may have with your AOL Desktop software without having to reinstall the software.

Once Quick Restore is completed, you will receive a series of updates for your AOL software. To learn more about these updates, please see our help article AOL TOD update.

Please select your version of AOL Connectivity Service (ACS) below for instructions on how to run Quick Restore.
