Unable to print web pages
Before you start
You should probably print or save a copy of these instructions, as you may have to close this page as you go through the following suggested solutions.
You will need to know the version of the Microsoft Windows operating system installed on your computer. You can find this information by following the instructions given in the online help article How do I determine the version of Windows I have?
Note: Please attempt each of the following solutions in turn. After trying the first solution, check if you can print web pages. If you're still unable to print, continue using the suggested solutions until the problem is fixed.
Keep it simple. There might be several programs installed on your system that start when you turn your computer on. A lot of these programs may cause the computer to slow down or even interfere with other programs (in this case, your printer drivers or programs). Not all of them are essential for your computer to run, so it's best to disable them so your computer can run optimally. Check out the following instructions to disable any pesky or unneeded programs from running when you start up:
Now, if you're still running an older version of Microsoft Windows (Windows 2000/Me/98), there's a bit more to the process: you will have to manually close all the programs currently running on your computer to resolve the issue. To set the print margins in Internet explorer
1. Launch the Internet Explorer browser.
2. Click the File menu and click Page Setup.
3. Under Margins (inches), type 0.25 in the boxes next to Left, Right, Top and Bottom, and then click OK.
The print spool may be stuck trying to print another page. Clearing the print spool can often resolve the issue.
To clear the print spool
1. On the Windows taskbar, next to the clock, double-click the Printer icon. If you don't see the Printer icon next to the clock, you may need to click the Show hidden icons arrow to reveal hidden icons.
Windows XP and lower
Note: If you are using Windows 7, you can choose the icons that you want displayed in the area next to the clock (System Tray). For instructions to do so, read our online help Customize Windows 7 System Tray.
2. Right-click the print job in progress, and then click Cancel.
3. Click Yes to confirm the cancellation. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 until all the print jobs are cancelled.
4. Close all open windows.
