How do I download email attachments in the AOL software?

You can immediately download files that you receive in an email or set the files to download later at your convenience.

Note: By default, the files that you download are stored in the My Documents folder, unless you've changed the default folder in Download Settings.

How to

Download the file immediately

1. On the AOL toolbar, click the Read icon.

2. Double-click the email that has the attachment you want to download.

3. On the lower left of the email, click the Download drop-down menu, and then click Download Now.

4. If prompted by a warning message, click Yes. Navigate to the folder, where you want to save the file, and then click Save.

5. Click Open File in the File Transfer Status window to open the downloaded file.

Set the file(s) to download later

1. On the AOL toolbar, click the Read icon.

2. Double-click the email that has the attachment you want to download.

3. On the lower left of the email, click the Download drop-down menu, and then click Download Later.

4. Click OK. The file will be added to the list of files to be downloaded later.

5. Close all open windows.

Complete the download of files that were set to download later

1. Click the File menu, and then click Download Manager.

2. Click the file that you want to download to highlight it, and then click Download or Finish Download.

3. Once the download is complete, click Open File to view the file. Close all open windows.
