How do I enlarge or reduce the font size on my web browser?

You can adjust the font size on your web browser to make the text smaller or larger. Changing your browser font size is very easy. Simply follow the instructions given below to customize your webpages to suit your needs.

Notes:

  • Changes to the browser's font settings may also apply to the text displayed in your AOL software. Alternatively, you can also alter the font settings in your AOL software by following the instructions given in our online help article How do I enlarge or reduce the text or font size on my computer?
  • You can quickly adjust the font size by holding down the Ctrl key and rotating the mouse wheel forward or backward. If you’re unable to change the font size using the mouse wheel, hold down the Ctrl key and then click the + or - key to increase or decrease the text size. If you’re still not able to get the desired font size, follow the instructions given below to change the font size of your web browser.
  • Some webpages have specific font sizes; these webpages won’t be affected by changing the text size in your browser.

From the list given, choose the appropriate link depending on the browser you want to change text size.

To change font settings on Internet Explorer:
1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. Click View, select Text Size and then click the text size you prefer.

To change font settings on Firefox:
1. Open Firefox.
2. Click View, select Zoom, and then click either Zoom In Ctrl ++ or Zoom Out Ctrl +- to increase or decrease the text size.

Note: To reset the font setting back to its default size, hold down the Ctrl key on your keyboard and then tap the number 0.

To change font settings on Chrome:
1. Open Chrome.
2. In the upper right, click the Wrench icon and then click Options.
3. In the left panel, click Under the Hood.
4. In the "Web Content" section, click the Font Size drop-down menu, and select the size you want.
5. Close the Options Tab.

Note: To reset the font setting back to its default size, hold down the Ctrl key on your keyboard and then tap the number 0.

To change font settings on Safari:
1. Open Safari.
2. Click View, and then choose either Zoom In or Zoom Out to increase or decrease the font size.

To change font settings on Opera:
1. Open Opera.
2. Click Menu, select Zoom and then choose the desired size from the options given.

Note: To reset the font settings back to its default size, hold down the Ctrl key on your keyboard and then tap the number 0.

To change font settings on Netscape:
1. Open Netscape.
2. Click View, select Text Size, and then click the preferred size.
