Cannot access Bank of America website while using the AOL Desktop software

If you're having issues accessing the Bank of America website using the AOL Desktop software, please try the solutions in order below to resolve your issue.


If you're using high-speed access

1. Make sure you're closed out of Internet Explorer and your AOL Desktop software. If you need to, please print or write down these instructions before continuing.

2. Click Start and select Control Panel.

3. If you're in Category View, click Switch to Classic View. Select Internet Options.

4. Under the Advanced tab, click Reset

IMPORTANT: Make sure the Personal Settings check box is checked before clicking Reset.

5. Click Reset. Once this process completes, click Close, and then click OK on the Internet Properties window.

6. Open Internet Explorer.

7. Visit the Bank of America website and log in. Make sure to save your Username and Password during login (Bank of America will prompt you).

8. Once you're logged in, minimize Internet Explorer and launch your AOL Desktop software.

9. Sign on and visit the Bank of America website through your AOL Desktop software.

10. Log in to the Bank of America website. If you still cannot log in, please try our additional troubleshooting options.


If you're using dial-up access

1. Sign on to your AOL Desktop software and then minimize the application.

2. Click Start and select Control Panel.

3. If you're in Category View, click Switch to Classic View. Select Internet Options.

4. Under the Advanced tab, click Reset.

IMPORTANT: Make sure the Personal Settings check box is checked before clicking Reset.

5. Click Reset. Once this process completes, click Close, and then click OK on the Internet Properties window.

6. Open Internet Explorer.

7. Visit the Bank of America website and log in. Make sure to save your Username and Password during login (Bank of America will prompt you).

8. Once you're logged in, close Internet Explorer and your AOL Desktop software.

9. Open your AOL Desktop software again and sign on.

10. Visit the Bank of America website and log in. If you still cannot log in, please try our additional troubleshooting options.


Additional troubleshooting options

If you're still having issues, please try the options below:

Confirm date and time zone are correctly set

1. Double-click the time on your system tray. The Date and Time Properties window will display.

2. Confirm that the date and time displayed in this window are correct.

3. Once you have the date and time set correctly, click Apply, and then click OK.
