Why am I seeing Blerk! Error 1 - COFE error 1714?

If you're seeing Error 1 - COFE Error 1714 it means that there's a sign-in (authentication) problem. Don't worry, it's not as scary as it sounds! The additional solutions below usually fix the problem.

For people who use a satellite ISP like HughesNet or WildBlue

For HughesNet ISP:

1. Go to www.systemcontrolcenter.com or put the IP 192.168.0.1 on the address bar.

2. Click on the "i" icon next to system information link.

3. On the left side menu bar, click on Control under Web Acceleration.

4. Put a check on the box beside disable web acceleration box.

5. Click Submit.

6. Open your web browser and clear the cookies and cache. If you need help clearing your cookies and cache, please check out our help article that explains how to do so.

7. Browse to mail.aol.com.

8. Before signing in, please make sure the "Remember Me" box is UNCHECKED.

Other people who use satellite internet providers (i.e. WildBlue, ViaSat):

1. Please check with your ISP on how to disable the web optimizer. After disabling your web acceleration/web optimizer:

3. Browse to mail.aol.com.

4. Before signing in, please make sure the "Remember Me" box is UNCHECKED.

For non-satellite ISP people

That should fix the problem!

Note: If you're still experiencing issues, sometimes trying a different web browser will fix the problem.
