Uninstall AOL Connectivity Service 1.0 in Windows XP/2000

1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.

Note: If you are using the Classic View in Windows XP or Windows 2000, click Start, select Settings, and then click Control Panel.

2. Double-click Administrative Tools.

Note: If you are using Classic View, click Performance and Maintenance, and then click Administrative Tools.

3. Double-click Services.

4. Under the list of services, right-click AOL Connectivity Service, and then click Stop.

5. Click X to close the Services window.

6. Click X to close the Administrative Tools window.

7. Click Start, select All Programs or Programs, select America Online, and then click AOL System Information.

8. Click Data Folder. This will open the Application Data/ AOL folder.

9. Click X to close the AOL System Information window.

10. In the Application Data/ AOL window, double-click the ACS folder.

11. Double-click the 1.0 folder.

12. Click the Edit menu, and then click Select All.

13. Click the File menu, and then click Delete.

14. If prompted, click Yes to confirm the deletion of all the files.

15. Click X to close all open windows.

16. Start the AOL software and sign on. If prompted, click Yes.

Note: You may be prompted to restart your computer a second time. This is a part of the process that the AOL software needs to go through to add the necessary files to get you back online.
