How to Choose Who Can Send E-mail to a Screen Name

Tired of your kids getting e-mail from people they don't know? You can block mail from unknown or unwanted senders. AOL helps put an end to the barrage of junk e-mail messages and even filters out spam that may contain inappropriate content.

Block E-mail from Unknown or Unwanted Senders

AOL® Parental Controls helps you customize an age-appropriate online experience for your child. You can now control and monitor your child's e-mail activities by setting up simple controls.

To block e-mails from unknown or unwanted senders:
1. Go to AOL® Keyword: Parental Controls.
2. Click the desired screen name in the Edit Parental Controls list.
3. Click the Edit E-mail Control button.
4. Click the Edit link next toSender Filter.
5. Choose the desired setting by clicking it.
6. If you wish to block or allow specific e-mail addresses, click the Use a Custom Sender List link. If not, you may go to step 9.
7. To block e-mail addresses, click Block all senders and domains listed below. To allow e-mail addresses, click Allow only the senders and domains listed below.
8. Type the e-mail address in the box provided, click theAdd button, then click the Save button.
9. Click the Save button.
