All AOL members are billed once a month, on their billing date,
for the next month's service. When you subscribe to a new premium
service, such as AOL® with Cable or AOL® with DSL
(Digital Subscriber Line), you are able to begin using their
service immediately, without having to pay for it. However, on
your next billing date, AOL will bill you a prorated charge for
the partial month of either DSL or cable service you received.
This charge covers from the date the DSL or cable service was
activated through the next billing date. After this bill, you can
expect to see the normal monthly DSL or cable charges. FAQsIdentify Your AOL® Service Charge on Your

combined on your financial statement and billed as a single amount. If you have a DSL or a broadband service, you will see only the combined amount on

Federal law (known as Internet Tax Nondiscrimination Act) prevented states and localities from charging taxes on your subscription fees for the AOL service through November 1, 2007. After that date, AOL began collecting those taxes pursuant to state and local laws. Back to FAQs
