If you see a white window or white screen while trying to access AOL® Games, try the solutions listed below to resolve the issue. After trying the first solution, check whether the issue is resolved. If the issue persists, continue using the suggested solutions until the problem is fixed.

Information you need
You will need to know the version of the Microsoft® Windows® operating system and AOL® software installed on your computer. You will also need to know the version of AOL® Connectivity Service (ACS) that your AOL software (AOL® 9.0 or higher) uses to connect to the Internet. You can find this information by following the instructions given in the online help articles mentioned below:

Adjust browser settings
Click the link corresponding to the version of Windows installed on your computer for instructions on how to adjust the browser settings.
To adjust browser settings in Windows 7/Vista®
1. Click Start.
2. In the Search or Start Search box, type Internet Explorer, and then tap the Enter key on your keyboard.
3. Click the Tools menu, and then click Internet Options.
4. Click the Connections tab.
5. Click LAN settings.
6. Click the Automatically detect settings box to clear it, and then click OK.
Note: If you have a proxy server configured, the program will not function properly. Try connecting directly to the Internet and not to a proxy server. To do so, ensure that the Use a proxy server for your LAN (These settings will not apply to dial-up or VPN connections) check box is cleared.
7. In the Internet Options window, click the General tab.
8. In the Browsing history section, click Settings.
9. In the Check for newer versions of stored pages section, choose the Every time I visit the webpage option by clicking it, and then click OK.
10. In the Browsing history section, click Delete.
11. Under Temporary Internet files, click Delete or Delete Files.
Note: If prompted, click Yes, and then click Close.
12. In the Internet Options window, click the Security tab, and then click Default level.
Note: If the Default level button is grayed out, it indicates that Security is set to the default level.
13. In the Internet Options window, click the Privacy tab, and then click Default.
Note: If the Default button is grayed out, it indicates that Privacy is set to the default level.
14. Click OK to close the Internet Options window.
15. Close all open windows.

To adjust browser settings in Windows XP/2000/Me/98
1. Click Start, select Programs or All Programs, and then click Internet Explorer.
2. Click the Tools menu, and then click Internet Options.
3. Click the Connections tab.
4. Click LAN settings.

10. Check the Delete all offline content box, and then click OK.
11. In the Internet Options window, click the Security tab, and then click Default Level.
Note: If the Default level button is grayed out, it indicates that Security is set to the default level.
12. In the Internet Options window, click the Privacy tab, and then click Default.

13. Click OK to close the Internet Options window.
14. Close all open windows.

Temporarily disable a firewall or configure McAfee
There may be a firewall or other security software on your computer that is preventing you from connecting to the AOL® service. You can temporarily disable your firewall and check whether you are able to connect to the Internet. To learn how to disable the firewall, read our online help article Disable a firewall. Run Quick Restore
The Quick Restore feature allows you to reset the AOL software to the default state by deleting all the updates downloaded in the past. It can help resolve issues that you may have with your AOL software without having to reinstall the software.
Once Quick Restore is completed, you will receive a series of AOL software updates to update your AOL software. To learn more about AOL software updates, read our online help article AOL software update.

Run Windows update
You can set your computer to automatically download Windows updates at a specified time. However, you need to ensure that your computer is turned on and connected to the Internet at that time. Please note that your computer may slow down while downloading these updates. Therefore, AOL recommends you to update your Windows software when you are not actively using your computer.
Click the link corresponding to the version of Windows installed on your computer for instructions on how to run Windows updates.
To turn on automatic updates for Windows 7/Vista
1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
2. Click the System and Security or Security icon, and then click the Windows Update icon.
Notes:
- If you are using Windows 7 and have Large icons or Small icons displayed next to View by, double-click the Windows Update icon.
- If you are using Windows Vista and the Control Panel is set to Classic View, double-click the Windows Update icon.
3. In the left panel, click the Change settings link.
4. Under Important Updates, in the first drop-down menu, select the Install updates automatically (recommended) option.
5. Click OK.
6. Close all open windows.
To turn on automatic updates for Windows XP
1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
2. Double-click the System icon.
Note: If the Control Panel is set to Category View, click the Performance and Maintenance icon, and then click the System icon.
3. Click the Automatic Updates tab.
4. Choose the Automatic (recommended) option by clicking it.
5. Click OK.
6. Close all open windows.
To turn on automatic updates for Windows 2000/Me
1. Click Start, select Settings, and then click Control Panel.
2. Double-click the Automatic Updates icon.
3. Choose the Automatic (recommended) option by clicking it.
4. Click OK.
5. Close all open windows.
To download updates for Windows 98
1. Go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com.
2. Click the Scan for updates link.
3. Click the Review and install updates link.
4. Click Install Now.
