This article explains how to use AOL® Computer Check-up to run a manual or automatic scan of your computer.
Run and Schedule Scans
You can either manually scan or schedule an automated scan of your computer with AOL® Computer Check-Up. With the automatic scan, you can choose how often (weekly, every 2 weeks, etc.) you want the scan to run, the day of the week, and the time you want the scan to run. There is also an option for not scheduling an automatic scan.
Note: Scheduled scans are enabled by default.
After a scan is run, you will receive a notification of the results of the scan including how many items found (if any), how many were fixed automatically, and an option to open to the Results page in AOL Computer Check-Up.

Run a Scan
AOL Computer Check-Up offers scheduled and manual scans for your computer.
To manually run a scan:
1. Launch the AOL Computer Check-Up software.
2. Click the Check Your Computer tab.
3. Click the Check-up Summary tab, then click the Check Now button.
To schedule a scan:
1. Launch the AOL Computer Check-Up software.
2. Click the Check Your Computer tab.
3. Click the Check-up Schedule tab.
4. Choose the Check every: option by clicking it, select the desired scan schedule, then click the Save button.

Turn Off a Scheduled Scan
If for some reason, you would like to turn off a scheduled scan, you can do so using the following instructions.
To manually turn off a scheduled scan:
1. Launch the AOL Computer Check-Up software.
2. Click the Check Your Computer tab.
3. Click the Check-up Schedule tab.
4. Choose the Do not schedule a check-up option by clicking it, then click the Save button.
