In AOL® Premium Computer Check-Up, the Clean Your Hard Drive tab helps you clean up old or unnecessary files from your hard drive.
Note: Before cleaning your hard drive, ensure that the AOL® software is not open.
To clean your hard drive 1. Sign on to the AOL Premium Computer Check-Up software. 2. Click the Clean Your Hard Drive tab. 3. Under Select files to clean-up, clear the boxes next to the files you do not wish to clean up.
- Remove deleted files from the Recycle Bin: This option will empty your Recycle Bin of the files you have deleted from your computer.
- Remove temporary files: This option will clear any temporary files that may be left over from program installations, or downloads.
- Clear IE cache: This option will clear the temporary files from Web pages.
- Remove unnecessary AOL files, such as AOL installers and Add-on's: This option will remove any unnecessary AOL files.
- Select old versions of AOL (You will be asked which versions to remove): This option will help you remove any extra copies of the AOL software from your computer.
4. Click the Clean Now button. 5. Click Continue. 6. Click OK. 7. Click X in the upper right to close the window.
