Many users prefer not to have adult sites included in their search results, especially if their kids use the same computer. AOL® search offers you the SafeSearch feature that prevents sites containing explicit sexual content from appearing in your search results. No filter is 100% accurate, but SafeSearch eliminates most of the inappropriate sites from your search results.
To turn the SafeSearch feature on/off
1. Go to http://search.aol.com/.
2. Click the Settings link.
3. In the SafeSearch section, select the option that you feel is appropriate for you, and then click Save Setting. The following options are available:
- Use strict filtering - filters explicit text and images
- Use moderate filtering - filters explicit images
- Turn SafeSearch Off - no filtering
4. Click OK.
5. Click the Back to where you were link to go back to the AOL Search page, or click X on the upper right to close the window.
