| The AIM® software allows you to be alerted when a buddy returns from being idle, signs on, or signs off.
Set the "Alert Me" Option
The Alert Me When option is usually set on
as default. If this feature isn't working properly, you can check
to make sure it hasn't been turned off.
To set the Alert Me When option:
1. On your Buddy List®, click a screen name to highlight it.
2. Click the Edit menu, then clickAlert Me When.... Note: You can also right-click a screen
name, then click Alert Me When....
3. Under Alert Me When:, click the desired
box to place a check mark in it or to clear it to set when to be
alerted.
4. Under Alert Me How Often:, choose the
desired alert option by clicking it to choose how often to be
alerted.
5. Under Alert Me How:, click the desired
box to place a check mark in it or to clear it to set how to be
alerted. Note: If you want a different alert
sound, click the Use an Alert Sound
drop-down menu to open it, select a sound from the list, then
click it.
6. Click the OK button. Back to Top
