Incorrect Gain/Loss Calculation Appearing on Your Portfolio

You may getting an incorrect gain/loss calculation appearing on your portfolio for any one of several reasons. After trying the first solution, check to see if your gain/loss calculation is correct. If you are still receiving incorrect gain/loss information, continue using the suggested solutions until the problem is fixed.

Enter Purchase Cost Per Share

Make certain you entered your purchase cost per share.

To enter cost per share:
1. Open your portfolio
2. Click the Edit button.
3. Confirm that the Purchase Price you entered was on a per share basis by entering the value on the Purchase Price Per Share box.

Check Commission Fees Entry

Gain/loss takes into consideration any commission you entered when you created a new entry in your portfolio. It considers the entire commission number as part of your cost to purchase.

To check commission fees entry:
1. Open your portfolio
2. Click the Edit button.
3. Ensure you correctly entered any commission when you created a new entry in your portfolio.
