Clear cookies, cache, history and footprints on AOL Desktop v10.1

You can use the Clear My Footprints feature to clear your browser history.

• Clear all footprints
• Specify the footprints you want to clear

Clear all footprints

1. On the browser window, click the View menu, and then click History.

Note: If the images given below are different from what you see on your computer, you are using an older version of the AOL Desktop software. Please install the latest version of AOL Desktop by visiting daol.aol.com/software/desktop.

2. At the bottom of the History panel, click Clear My Footprints.

3. Click Clear Footprints.

4. Click OK.

5. Click X to close the History panel.

Specify the footprints you want to clear

If you don't wish to clear all footprints, you can specify the footprints that you want to clear.

To specify the footprints that you want to clear:
1. On the browser window, click the Settings menu, and then click Select Footprints to Clear.

2. Select the boxes next to the footprints that you wish to clear. The following are the footprints that you can choose to clear.

• Select All: Selects all the options given below.
• Browsing History: Clears the websites saved in the history side panel.
• Cookies: Clears the files (cookies) that personalize the websites you've visited.
• Browser Cache: Clears temporary Internet files.
• Blocked Pop-up List: Clears the list of pop-ups that were successfully blocked.
• Thumbnails: Clears thumbnail images of the websites that you've visited.
• Recent Searches: Clears the list of search terms in the search box.

3. Click Clear Selected Footprints.

4. Click OK.
