AOL® Desktop for Mac®, the new all-in-one application, was built from the ground up for Mac users, by Mac users. It puts your Web browser, instant messenger, e-mail, and other popular features in one place for you so that you can get more done with fewer clicks. You can download AOL Desktop for Mac from http://daol.aol.com/software/mac. The instructions given below will guide you through the installation and uninstallation processes.
Important: If you have saved your AOL password on the AOL® software, ensure that you remember your password before you perform the steps given below as uninstalling the AOL software will delete your saved password. If you don’t remember your password, we recommend that you change your password before proceeding any further. You will also need to remember the answer to your Account Security Question (ASQ) to be able to change your password. You can change your ASQ if you don’t remember the answer to it. Install AOL Desktop for Mac
Installing AOL Desktop is similar to installing any other software on your machine.
1. Go to http://daol.aol.com/software/mac.
2. In the All-In-One Software section, click Download Now.
3. On the Install AOL Desktop for Mac window, click Continue.
4. Click Continue again.
5. In the AOL® Desktop for Mac section, click Continue.
6. On the Software License Agreement window, click Continue.
7. Click Agree.
8. Click Install.
9. Type the password, and then click OK.
Note: The AOL Desktop for Mac starts installing on your computer.
10. After the software is installed successfully, click Close.
11. To launch the software, click the Go menu, and then click Applications.
12. Under Name, double-click AOL Desktop. Once the software launches, sign on with your screen name and password.

Uninstall AOL Desktop for Mac
Uninstalling AOL Desktop for Mac is a simple process. Follow the instructions given below to uninstall the software.
1. Click the Go menu, and then click Applications.
2. Trash the AOL Desktop icon.

Install AOL for Mac OS X
For a "classic" version of the AOL® software, you can still download AOL® for Mac OS® X for free.
1. On the Internet, go to http://download.newaol.com/mac/AOL_for_Mac_OS_X.dmg.
2. Download AOL for Mac OS X, and then double-click the Install AOL for OS X file in the downloads window.
Note: If you don't see the downloads window, double-click the AOL for Mac OS X file on the desktop.
3. If prompted with a warning message, click Open.
4. Click the Install Location drop-down menu to open it, choose a location to install the software, and then click Install.
5. On the welcome message screen, click OK.
6. If you are prompted for an administrator password, please enter the password, and then click OK. The AOL for Mac OS X software will now be installed.

Uninstall AOL for Mac OS X
Uninstalling AOL for Mac OS X is a simple process. Follow the instructions given below to uninstall the software.
1. Click the Go menu, and then click Applications.

Install the AOL software from the CD
1. Insert the AOL CD in the CD drive. A window with the TRYAOL icon will come up, or the TRY AOL - Install Now icon will be displayed on the desktop. If either the window or the icon is not displayed, double-click the Mac HD or Mac OS X icon, and then click the appropriate icon under DEVICES.
2. Double-click the Install AOL or Install icon to begin the installation. If your computer meets the minimum system requirements (Mac OS X 10.4.8 or above), AOL Desktop for Mac will be installed. Otherwise, AOL for Mac OS X will be installed.
Note: If you want to install AOL for Mac OS X and not AOL Desktop for Mac, double-click the Installers folder, and then double-click Install AOL for Mac OS X. Proceed to step 3 to complete the installation.
3. On the Install AOL Desktop for Mac window, click Continue. Proceed to step 4 to complete the installation.
