| You may receive an error message “Socket - HostRefused” when you try connecting to AOL® Desktop for Mac®, while Parental Controls are enabled on your Mac. To fix this, you will have to add a Web site in the Parental Controls settings of your Mac. The instructions to do that are listed below. You may wish to print or save a copy of these instructions as this page may not remain visible as you go through the suggested steps. Add Web Site to Parental ControlsTo add a Web site to Parental Controls on AOL Desktop for Mac: 1. Click the Apple menu and then click System Preferences.
2. In the System section, click the Parental Controls icon.
3. Click the lock icon.
4. Type your password and click the OK button.
5. Select the account name you wish to make changes to.
6. Click the Content tab.
7. Select the Try to limit access to adult websites automatically option, and then click the Customize button.
8. Click the + button to add a Web site.
9. In the space provided, type kdc.uas.aol.com and then click the OK button.
10. Click the lock icon to save the changes.
11. Click the red button to close the Parental Controls window.
