The new player features unlimited presets, song skipping, pause, and song/station history. Plus, for the first time ever, over 30+ news, sports & talk stations.
If you are using AOL® for Mac® OS® X, or AOL® Desktop for Mac®, you can now access AOL Radio powered by CBS Radio by going to AOL® Keyword: Radio, or http://aolradio.com, and then clicking the LISTEN NOW link. AOL Radio for Mac is compatible with Safari® and Firefox®.
Attention dial-up users: We are pleased to announce that an upgraded version of the narrowband (dial-up) AOL® Radio powered by CBS player has been released. These improvements will provide a better Dial-Up/Narrowband experience. Please go to aolradio.com to listen to AOL Radio powered by CBS Radio. All radio stations are available to narrowband and broadband users, but they will receive those stations at different bit rates to ensure the optimal experience for their bandwidth. Broadband listeners should be prepared to handle a stream of around 64 Kbps, while narrowband will come in at around 16 Kbps if Flash Player 9,0,115 is installed.
TIP: It is recommended that you upgrade to the latest version of Flash. Users with older versions of Flash may have trouble saving their settings to Narrowband (dial-up) in the future. Please check the version of Flash installed on your computer before accessing AOL Radio powered by CBS Radio.
Note: AOL® Radio 1.2.1 and previous versions were discontinued on July 30, 2008.
Leopard® Users: If you are using Mac® OS® X Leopard®, and if you want to try the new AOL Radio, please go to AOL Beta Central, and download the new AOL Radio 2.0 Beta application.
Requirements: This application requires Mac OS X 10.5.2 or later. (If you have 10.5 or 10.5.1, please use the Apple Software Update to upgrade to 10.5.2 or higher)
Notes:
- AOL Radio 2.0 beta does not officially support narrowband connections, but will deliver low bit-rate streams to dial-up customers.
- Additional features will be released during the beta cycle. Please review Beta 101 on AOL Beta Central for more information on becoming a beta tester.
