Clear cache on AOL Radio powered by CBS Radio

Your AOL® Radio powered by CBS Radio may not sound clear for any one of several reasons. After trying the first solution, check to see if you the issue has resolved. If you are still unable to hear it clearly, continue using the suggested solutions until the problem is fixed.

Clear your Flash® player cache

AOL Radio streams data into your computer as cache, to play music. Clearing this cache will help in better streaming and sound quality.

To clear your flash player cache:
1. Go to AOL® Keyword: Radio, or http://radio.aol.com, and then click the LISTEN NOW link.

2. Right-click on an empty area on the player and click Settings.



3. Click the folder icon.



4. Move the slider to the extreme left and click OK for the alert.



Notes:

  • After clearing the cache you may set it back to its previous setting. Close all your browser windows and restart the player in a new instance of your browser.

Clear your browser's cache

Whenever you visit certain Web sites, they will store what is known as temporary Internet files and cookies on your computer to identify that Web site. If not cleared periodically, over a period of time, these files can take up a lot of hard disk space. Clearing this cache will help in better streaming and sound quality.

Clear cache, cookies and history for Microsoft® Internet Explorer® 7.0
Clear cache, cookies and history for Microsoft® Internet Explorer® 6.0
Clear cache, cookies and history for Firefox® for Windows®
Clear cache, cookies and history for Firefox® for Mac®
Clear cache, cookies and history for Safari®

To clear cache, cookies and history for Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0:
1. Close any Internet browser windows that may be open on your computer.
2. Click the Start button, select All Programs, then click Internet Explorer.
3. In the upper right, click the Tools menu, then click Internet Options.
4. On the General tab, under the Browsing history section, click the Delete button.
5. Under the Temporary Internet Files section, click the Delete files button to clear the cache.
6. Click the Yes button to confirm.
7. In the lower right, click the Close button to close the Delete Browsing History window.
8. Click the OK button to close the Internet Options window.

To clear cache, cookies and history for Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0:
1. Close any Internet browser windows that may be open on your computer.
2. Click the Start button, select Programs or All Programs, then click Internet Explorer.
3. Click the Tools menu, then click Internet Options.
4. On the General tab, under the Temporary Internet files section, click the Delete Files button.
5. Click the Delete all offline content box to place a check mark in it.
6. Click the OK button for confirmation.
7. Click the OK button to close the Internet Options window.

To clear cache, cookies and history for Firefox for Windows:
1. Click the Start button, select Programs or All Programs, select Mozilla Firefox, then click the Mozilla Firefox icon.
2. Click the Tools menu, then click Clear Private Data.
3. Click the Browsing History, Cache, uncheck other options by clicking them, then click the Clear Private Data Now button.

To clear cache, cookies and history for Firefox for Mac:
1. Launch the Firefox browser. Click the Firefox menu, and then click Preferences.
2. Click the Privacy tab.
3. In the Private Data section, click Clear Now.
4. Click the red dot in the upper left to close the Preferences window.

To clear cache, cookies, and history for Safari:
1. Launch the Safari browser. Click the Safari menu, and then click Empty Cache.
2. Click the Empty button to confirm.
3. Click the Safari menu, and then click Preferences.
4. In the Security window, click the Bookmarks tab.
5. Click Show Cookies.
6. Click Remove All to delete all cookies, and then click Done.
7. Click the History menu, scroll down to the end of the list, and then click Clear History.

Clear Browser Cache on the AOL® software

AOL Radio streams data into your computer as cache, to play music. Clearing this cache will help in better streaming and sound quality.

To clear browser footprints, if using AOL® 9.1, AOL® 9.0 VR or AOL® 9.0 Security Edition:
1. Go to AOL® Keyword: Browser Settings. You can access this keyword only through the AOL® software.
2. Click the Clear My Footprints tab.
3. Click the Select Footprints to Clear button.
4. Click the footprint options you wish to clear, to place a check mark in it.
5. Click the Clear Selected Footprints button.
6. Click Close.
7. Click Save.

AOL Radio streams data into your computer as cache, to play music. Clearing this cache will help in better streaming and sound quality.

1. Click the AOL Desktop menu, and then click Preferences.

2. Click the Web icon.

3. Click the Empty Cache button.

4. Click the red button in the upper left to close the Web window.
