Note: If you are using Windows XP or earlier versions of Windows® Operating Systems (OS), you do not need to update your AOL software to AOL 9.0 VR Refresh. What is the cost to upgrade to AOL 9.0 VR Refresh?Its absolutely FREE. But if you are on an hourly plan, the time you spend downloading does not count as your connect time. The communication surcharges, if any will apply to you normally. You can use computer while downloading AOL 9.0 VR Refresh, but your computer applications like email and Web browsers, may run slowly while downloading. Once the download is complete, the installation process will begin automatically which will close your current AOL program and will ask you to restart your computer. Hence we recommend you to close all other programs before you begin the installation. AOL members should take only a few minutes when using a DSL or cable Internet connection with no special requirements. If using a 56 KBPS dial-up connection, it will take any where between 1-3 hours to download. Note: The AOL Software End User License Agreement governs the use of AOL 9.0 VR Refresh, Adobe Flash, and ViewPoint Media Player. AOL 9.0 VR Refresh is accessible and optimized for use with the JAWS screen-reader. For users on Windows XP, there is no need to upgrade to 9.0 VR Refresh as of now, as AOL 9.0 Security Edition SE provides a comparable experience. AOL is working with the makers of JAWS to ensure that 9.0 VR Refresh will work with the Windows Vista compatible version of JAWS when it is released. You will need to have an AOL screen name to use AOL 9.0 VR Refresh, if you don't have a Screen Name create one after you agree to the AOL Member Terms of Service.
