Message: This screen name is blocked from accessing this feature

If your Username is either being blocked by Parental Controls or has not been granted access to Premium Services, you may receive the message "This Username is blocked from accessing this feature" when trying to access an email using AOLbyPhone service. In order to access emails, your Username category setting must be changed to General and the Username should be granted Premium Services privileges.

You may wish to print or save a copy of these instructions as this page may not remain visible as you go through the suggested steps.

To change your Username category and grant Premium Services privileges:
1. Sign on to the AOL software with the master Username.
2. Go to AOL Keyword: Parental Controls or parentalcontrols.aol.com.
3. Next to the desired Username for which you wish to verify the access, click Edit.

Note: This feature is not available for Usernames under Kid (12 and under) category.

4. Ensure the General option is selected. If not, select the General option.
5. Check the box next to Master (Only master accounts can view and edit parental controls.).
6. Scroll down to Downloads & Premium Services, and then uncheck the AOL Premium Service Subscriptions box.
7. Click Save.
8. Click OK.
