| You can now either cancel your paid AOL® account or convert it to a Free AOL account if you have an Internet connection.
Important:
- You will not be able to access your Address Book once you cancel your AOL account. However, you can retrieve your Address Book if you reactivate your AOL account within 90 days of cancellation.
- You will need to remember your password to be able to sign on to your AOL account. For instructions on how to change your password, refer to the online help article I forgot my AOL Password.
- You will need to remember the answer to your Account Security Question (ASQ) to be able to sign on to your AOL account. You can change your ASQ if you do not remember the answer to it by following the instructions given in the online help article I forgot the answer to my Account Security Question.
- If you've subscribed for AOL premium services and you cancel your AOL account, your premium services subscription will also be canceled. To avoid the cancellation of your premium services, you can convert your AOL account to a free account. Once you convert your AOL account to a free account, you will not be billed for the AOL service after your next billing date. Your premium services subscription will also remain active.
To cancel your AOL account 1. Go to http://bill.aol.com/. 2. Sign on with a master screen name. Type the answer to your ASQ, and then click Continue. 3. In the right panel, under I want to, click Cancel my billing.

4. In the right panel, under Frequently Asked Questions, click How do I cancel my paid member account or convert it to a free member account.

Note: If you convert your account to a free account, you will still be able to access your Address Book.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions to send the cancellation request. You can either send us an electronic cancellation request or fax us the cancellation request. You can also fill the form provided to you and mail it to our postal address. The mailing address and fax number are given below:

Notes:
- In order to process your request, you form must be complete. The fields marked with an asterisk ( *) are mandatory.
- Your request will be processed within 72 hours of the receipt of the form.
- Once your cancellation request is processed, AOL will send you a written confirmation for your records.
- You can continue to enjoy your paid service for the remainder of your current billing cycle.
- Your account will automatically be converted to a free account prior to your next billing date.
- AOL reserves the right to charge and collect any fees, surcharges, or costs incurred before your conversion takes effect.
