How do I send an email on AOL Desktop v10.1?

The AOL service includes access to email. You can send emails to other AOL users or Internet email addresses using the AOL Desktop v10.1 software.

AOL Mail gives you the ability to write a generic email and to add pictures, emoticons, and signatures to your email.

Send an email

You can send email to any valid email address.

To send an email

1. On the AOL toolbar, click the Mail icon.

2. Type your screen name and password in the appropriate boxes, and then click Sign In.

3. Click Write Mail.

4. In the To box, type the email address of the person to whom you want to send the email. To send the same message to multiple people, simply separate each email address with a comma.

Note: You can use only the screen name to send an email to any AOL user. But to send an email to someone who uses some other email service, you must include the entire email address along with the domain, e.g., If you leave out any part of the email address, the email will be returned to you undelivered.

5. In the Subject box, type a suitable subject for your email.

6. Type your message in the message box. When you have finished, click Send.

7. Click X to close the Mail window.

Note: You can manage your mails using the unified Inbox folder or New and Old mail folder. To learn more, please visit the online help article How do I switch to the unified Inbox Mail?
