Switch from Inbox view to the New/Old mailbox view

You can switch from the Inbox mailbox style (where all messages, both Read and Unread, stay in one place: the Inbox) to the New/Old mailbox style (where Unread messages appear within New, and Read messages go to Old).

You can also switch back again, anytime.

Note: If your email address ends with aim.com or if you created a new Username, you'll only be able to use the Inbox mailbox style.

Here's how:

1. Sign into AOL Mail. Then come back here, because we've got a link for you to click...

2. OK, click this link:

3. Click Switch to New/Old.

4. If applicable, once you get the confirmation, click X to close the window.

Note: You'll need to sign out then sign back in to apply the change.

5. Once you sign on using your AOL Username and password, this is how your mailbox would look:

AOL 9.6, AOL 9.5 or AOL 9.1
