Why doesn’t AOL Mail show the full email address in the emails I receive?

We recently improved our Mail product to display the name of the contact instead of the email address in any email that you receive. We did this to improve your experience in identifying the sender of an email.

You can view the entire email address of the sender by either hovering over the contact's name in the email or by clicking the More Details link in the pane header or the email header. However, if you would like the entire email address to be displayed for all emails in your inbox, you can change your settings. To do so, skip to the section Display email address for all emails.

Hovering

  • Hover your mouse over the contact's name in the email that you received to see the complete email address of the sender.

More Details
  • Click the email that you received, and then click the More Details link in the reading pane header or the email header to see the complete email address of the sender.

Note: To hide the email address, click Hide.

Display email address for all emails

1. Sign on to mail.aol.com. On the upper-right corner of AOL Mail page, click Settings.

2. Uncheck the box next to Show sender names instead of email addresses in message lists, and then click Save at the bottom.

You're Done! You can now see the email address of the sender in your inbox.
