If you're having trouble sending or receiving your AOL Mail using Mozilla Thunderbird, deleting and reconfiguring your AOL account will fix the problem. To reconfigure your AOL Mail account using Mozilla Thunderbird:1. Open Mozilla Thunderbird.
2. Go to the Tools menu, and then click Account Settings. 3. In the Account Settings window that appears, under the Account Actions drop down menu, select Remove Account.
4. The Remove Account window appears, prompting you to confirm the deletion of your account. Click OK to proceed. 5. Click OK to close the Account Settings window. To create a new account 1. Under Accounts, click Create a new account.
2. In the Mail Account Setup window, enter the following details:
3. Click Continue. The Mail Account Setup window extends to show you additional settings.
4. You can keep the default IMAP server settings or opt for the POP server. Tip: AOL Mail supports both POP3 and IMAP, but we recommend you use IMAP. If you wish to keep the default settings (IMAP server settings), click Create Account.
6. If you want to configure the POP server settings, perform the following additional steps
7. Your AOL email folder (michealmarvel@aol.com) is displayed under Local Folders. In the Email section, you can click Read messages to read your AOL emails or Write a new message to send out a new email.
