How do I activate McAfee?

1. There will be a Get Started Now link for each service within your package. Click Get Started Now on your confirmation page or Order Confirmation email for the service you wish to start. You will be directed to the service’s website.

Note: If you can’t locate the Order Confirmation email, you can activate McAfee from My Account.

a. Go to My Account.

b. Sign in with your master Username or Email and Password.

c. Answer your Account Security Question.

d. Under Service Options, click Manage My Subscriptions.

e. Locate McAfee. Under the Subscription Details, copy and paste the Access URL into a separate web browser. Then follow the on-screen instructions to install McAfee.

Alternatively, please call 1-800-827-6364 for one of our representatives to resend you the Order Confirmation email.

2. Enroll/Activate. Take a few minutes to fill out your account information. If an activation code is provided on your confirmation page or email, be sure to enter it when requested on the activation page. Once you’ve entered all of your personal information and submitted it, your enrollment is complete!

Do I need to download McAfee?

Yes, you must download McAfee to use the product. Downloading is easy. Click Get Started Now in your confirmation page or Order Confirmation email and follow the on-screen instructions to download the product.

Why is McAfee not downloading properly?

Firewalls, virus software and registry protectors are helpful tools – except when they block the download of McAfee software. To prevent this from happening, configure your computer’s system software so there is no conflict. If problems persist, contact McAfee or call the tech support for the software already installed on your computer.

How many computers can I use McAfee on?

McAfee is available for one computer per subscription.

What kind of internet connection do I need for McAfee?

You will need a working internet connection (through dial-up, broadband or Wi-Fi connection) to download and use McAfee.

Is McAfee compatible with my computer?

McAfee supports the following systems:

  • PCs only
  • Operating Systems: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and above
  • Hardware: 512 MB of RAM minimum; 1 GHz processor or higher; 800 × 600 or higher resolution; 400 MB of free hard drive space
  • Email Programs: Microsoft Outlook/Outlook Express/Microsoft Mail. NOTE: User must have access to ISP login/password information.
  • Browsers: Internet Explorer version 6.0 or later, Firefox version 3.5 or later. NOTE: Other browsers may not be supported.
  • Requirements for Anti-Spam Toolbar Plug-In: Outlook Express 6.0 or later; Windows Mail; Outlook 2000 or later; Eudora 6.0 or later; Thunderbird 1.5 or later; Anti-Spam also supports any other POP3 email client (without SSL) and web accounts (MSN/Hotmail paid accounts and accounts with POP3 access)

How do I view my billing information and history?

Go to My Account and sign in with your master Username or Email and Password, then type the answer to your Account Security Question and click Continue. Under Account Options, click View My Statements. Select the Billing Statement tab to view the billing history for your account.
