The Portfolio application cannot accept fractions. What do the S&P columns mean?If you have a date entered for a transaction, the column labeled “S&P” will show the performance of the S&P500 index since that date – in essence it’s a benchmark for that particular holding. The “vs. S&P” column is your “%Gain/Loss” for that holding minus the “S&P” return – in other words, how has your position performed to-date vs. the S&P500. How do I sort the positions in my portfolio? You can re-sort any portfolio by clicking the black/gray title box at the top of the column by which you’d like to sort. The portfolio tool will remember what you’ve selected and will continue to display all of your portfolios in that order until you choose to sort by something else. How do I delete a portfolio?1. Go to your "My Portfolios" page, located here: http://www.dailyfinance.com/portfolios. 2. Go to the line that contains the portfolio you’d like to delete. 3. Point your mouse to the pencil at the end of that row, and click Delete when it appears. 4. Confirm that you’d like to delete the portfolio. I have multiple positions in the same ticker. Where did they go?Stocks in which you have multiple positions are now rolled up into a single entry. This is noted by a small blue box next to the ticker symbol and a number inside that shows how many positions you have in that stock. The information for these individual positions has not gone away. If you click on the number next to the ticker, a window will pop up showing you detailed information on each of the positions. ![]() Will DailyFinance automatically update my stock if it splits? No. You will have to make these adjustments manually by changing your purchase price. Why am I seeing an odd or incorrect gain or loss in my portfolio? If you are seeing an odd, incorrect gain or loss on an item in your portfolio, ensure that you have entered the purchase price correctly. Always enter the purchase price per share, not the value of the total purchase cost. How do I get a quote on an item that is already in my portfolio?Click the symbol in your portfolio and you will be taken to the quote page for that symbol. Why does my portfolio show "N/A" for Valued and Gain/Loss?Your portfolio contains ticker symbols of multiple currencies so the overall value and gain/loss cannot be calculated. Why does my portfolio show "N/A" for % Portfolio? The portfolio distribution cannot be calculated if your portfolio’s total short value is at least 1.5 times larger than your total long value or if your portfolio contains ticker symbols of multiple currencies. How do I find which positions contain quotes using multiple currencies?Usually, this can be determined by which exchange the stock is traded on. Sometimes, users don't realize that they have added a Canadian stock to a US portfolio or a US stock to a UK portfolio. By hovering the mouse over each position and looking at the link address at the bottom of your browser, you will be able to see what exchange that stock is traded on and eliminating it if it isn't in the correct country.
