How do I change the font size of the webpages within AOL Desktop 9.6?

If your nose touches your computer screen, you may want to consider increasing the font size in your web browser.

Using the instructions below,you can either:

Note: The default font size that you set applies to all the Usernames on your account.

Here’s how to zoom in on the webpage you’re currently viewing:

1. Sign on to AOL Desktop 9.6.

2. Browse to the webpage that you’d like to magnify.

3. Click the Edit menu in the top navigation bar, and then move your pointer over Zoom.

4. Select from the following options:

  • Zoom In: Enlarges the webpage slightly.
  • Zoom Out: Shrinks the webpage slightly.
  • 400% to 50%: Enlarges or shrinks the webpage to the percentage you select.
  • Custom: Type the percentage that you want the webpage to change by in the Percentage zoom box.

Here’s how to set the default font size for ALL webpages:

1. Sign on to AOL Desktop 9.6.

2. Open a new web window.

3. Click the Edit menu in the top navigation bar, and then move your pointer over Text Size.

4. Select from the following options: Largest, Larger, Medium, Smaller, and Smallest

You did it! You can now surf the web without straining your eyes.

Note: The default font size that you set applies to all webpages. However, some webpages have fixed font sizes and the above settings may not apply to these webpages. In such cases, you can use the zoom option to manually increase or decrease the text size on the webpage.
