Format Instant Messages

You can change the font, color, and size of your instant message text and background to make your IMs fit your personal style and preferences. To change the formatting of instant messages, click the Settings icon on the AOL® toolbar, then click the Font and Text link. Under Font Settings, make the required changes, then click the Save button.

Notes:

  • If you are using AOL® 6.0 or 7.0, click the Preferences link, then click the Font, Text, and Graphics link.
  • This will permanently change your font and text settings so you don't have to change them each time you send an instant message.
  • If you want to change only the text in the IM you are currently writing, highlight the section of text you want to format to select it, on the IM toolbar click the Font button, then select the formatting features you want to use.
