Clear cookies, cache, and history on AOL software for Mac

Whenever you visit certain Web sites, the browser stores files, such as cache, cookies, and history, on your computer to identify the Web sites you've visited. Clear cookies, cache, and history on AOL Desktop for Mac

To clear cookies

1. Click the AOL Desktop v10.1 menu, and then click Preferences.

2. Click the Web icon.

3. Next to Cookies, click Remove All Cookies.

4. Click OK.

5. Click the red button to close the Web window.

To clear browser cache

1. Click the AOL Desktop v10.1 menu, and then click Preferences.

2. Click the Web icon.

3. Next to Cache, click Empty Cache.

4. Click OK.

5. Click the red button to close the Web window.

Tip: You can also clear cache by clicking the Web menu on the AOL toolbar, clicking Empty Cache, and then clicking OK.

  • Click the Web menu, select History, and then click Clear History.

To clear cookies

1. Click the AOL menu, and then click Preferences. This opens the Browser Settings window.

2. On the left pane of the Browser Settings window, click the WWW icon.

3. Click the Cookies tab.

4. Under Manage Stored Cookies, click Remove All Cookies.

4. Click OK.

To clear browser cache

1. Click the AOL menu, and then click Preferences. This opens the Browser Settings window.

2. On the left pane of the Browser Settings window, click the WWW icon.

3. Click the Display tab.

4. Next to Cache Memory Size, click Empty Cache Now.

To clear browser history

1. Click the AOL menu, and then click Preferences. This opens the Browser Settings window.

2. On the left pane of the Browser Settings window, scroll down to the end, and then click the Toolbar icon.

3. Under History Trail, click Clear History Trail Now.

Note: If you want to clear the history trail every time you sign off or switch screen names, select the Clear after each Sign Off/Switch Screen Name box.

4. Click OK.
