After an extended period of time, the amount of stored artwork on your computer can reduce efficiency.

Purge the Artwork Database

You can delete the artwork by resetting the amount of space AOL uses to store online art. Follow the instructions given below to purge the Artwork Database.

1. Launch the AOL software, but do not sign on.

2. On the AOL toolbar, click the Settings icon.

3. In the AOL Settings window, click the Offline Storage link.

4. In the Graphics Settings section, click the Maximum disk space to use for online art drop-down arrow and lower the value to the lowest setting, and then click the Save button.

5. Click the X button in the upper-right corner of the AOL Settings window.

6. On the AOL toolbar, click the File menu, and then click Exit.

7. Launch the AOL software once again, but do not sign on.

8. On the AOL toolbar, click the Settings icon.

9. In the AOL Settings window, click the Offline Storage link.

10. In the Graphics Settings section, click the Maximum disk space to use for online art drop-down arrow and increase the value to a maximum of 60 megabyte(s), and then click the Save button.

11. Click the X button in the upper-right corner of the AOL Settings window.

12. Sign on to AOL.

To purge the artwork database in case you are using AOL 6.0, 7.0, or 8.0:

1. Launch the AOL software, but do not sign on.

2. On the AOL toolbar, click the Settings drop-down menu, and then click Preferences.

3. Under Preferences, click the Font, Text & Graphics link.

4. In the Graphics Preferences section, click the Maximum disk space to use for online art drop-down arrow and lower the value to the lowest setting, and then click the Save button.

5. Click the X button in the upper-right corner of the Preferences window.

6. On the AOL toolbar, click the File menu, and then click Exit.

7. Launch the AOL software once again, but do not sign on.

8. On the AOL toolbar, click the Settings drop-down menu, and then click Preferences.

9. Under Preferences, click the Font, Text & Graphics link.

10. In the Graphics Preferences section, click the Maximum disk space to use for online art drop-down arrow and increase the value to a maximum of 40 megabyte(s), and then click the Save button.
