Why is Alto Mail being discontinued?

We have loved working on and building Alto Mail for you. Innovation and product development continue to be what we do, and the Alto team will be shifting its focus to something new. We plan to incorporate many of our learnings and technologies across current and future products and experiences.

Can I still use Alto Mail between now and December 10, 2017?

Yes. You can still sign in to and use Alto Mail until December 10, 2017.

Can I still download the app and create new accounts?

The Alto Mail app will be removed from the Google Play and the Apple app stores on November 9, 2017. It will no longer be possible to download the app or create new accounts after this date.

How do I access my AOL Mail or verizon.net email after December 10, 2017?

If you have an AOL Mail or verizon.net email account you access using Alto Mail, you can continue to send and receive email using the AOL app or at mail.aol.com.

What happens to my emails, folders and calendar entries?

Alto Mail is a mail application that allows you to access your email and calendar entries from your email provider. Since your emails, folders, and calendar entries are hosted by your provider, these won't be affected and you can still access these through your provider.

What happens to stacks I created?

As stacks were unique to Alto Mail, they will unfortunately not be available after Alto Mail is shut down. The emails, files, and other data they provided a unique view of will still be available in your mailbox through your email provider, just not as stacks.
