How do I make AOL Shield Pro my default browser?

To make AOL Shield Pro your default browser:

1. In the upper right, click the menu button (three horizontal lines).

2. In the browser menu, click Settings.

3. At the bottom, under 'Default browser', click Make AOL Shield Pro the default browser.

4. On the Settings window that appears, in the right panel, scroll down to 'Web browser' and click the + sign next to 'Choose a default.'

5. In the menu that appears, click AOL Shield Pro.

That’s it! You can close the Settings window by clicking the X in the top right.

How do I set my homepage in AOL Shield Pro?

To set your homepage:

1. In the upper right, click the menu button (three horizontal lines) and then click Settings.

2. On the Settings page, under Appearance, make sure the box next to 'Show Home Button' is checked and then click the Change link.

3. In the box that appears, click the circle next to 'Open this page', and then type in the url that you’d like to set as your homepage.

4. Click Ok to save your homepage.

Can I run Chrome extensions, apps, and themes in the AOL Shield Pro Browser?

Yes, AOL Shield Pro is built off of Chromium, the same framework that Chrome is built on. Most Chrome extensions, apps, and themes on the Chrome Store should work.

To pin AOL Shield Pro to your Windows Start menu:

1. Right-click the AOL Shield Pro icon on your desktop.

2. In the pop-up menu that appears, click Pin to Start.
