Tip icon.AOL.com email users - Read our help article for AOL.com port and server settings.

To send and receive AOL email via a 3rd party email client, you'll need to manually configure the servers and port numbers with supported AOL Mail info. If you access AOL Mail through mail.aol.com or the AOL app you don't need to make any changes to your settings.

You may be prompted to select either IMAP or POP3, so if you change the configuration make sure to save or back-up your email to avoid a potential loss during the transition.

Update server settings

Most email software and applications have an account settings menu where you'll need to update the IMAP or POP3 settings. When entering your account info, make sure you use your full email address, including @verizon.net, and that the SSL encryption is enabled for incoming and outgoing mail.

 Protocol Server SettingsPort Settings
POP 3 Incoming mail server (POP3): pop.verizon.net
 Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.verizon.net
IMAP Incoming mail server (IMAP): imap.aol.com
 Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.verizon.net

Settings may be in a different location in each email client, though the Verizon server and port settings will always be the same. For additional questions specific to the email client, check the manufacturer’s website. Manufacturers cannot answer questions about your Verizon.net/AOL Mail settings, or your username or password.
